We went to see that over the holidays, too! I was really happy with it. Which is saying something, because I thought the second one was one of the worst things I've ever seen, and Kidlet actually counts it as the single worst film he's ever seen in his life (and he LOVES the book and has since he was 5). We enjoyed the first film, even though it wasn't as good as any of the Lord of the Rings. But after the fiasco that was the second, we had very low expectations of the third. We were very pleasantly surprised. There's stuff that we could nitpick, but overall I'm glad I saw it, it was a good way for the series to go out, I think.
