NaBloPoMo 2013 - Day 18

My car is full of ants. ANTS!!!!!!!!!  Happy fucking Monday to me.

Today's suggested topic:

18. Share your favorite fandom places/sites outside of LJ.

Um, I don't really have any inside LJ, so, um. Yeah. Honestly, I don't exactly get how LJ works, or is supposed to work (since sometimes "works" and "LJ" seem incompatible terms). So I do all my fangirling at the usual places:

Haven

Ephemeral

Gossamer

AO3

FF.net

Sherlockology

Geekcrafts

Craftser (how do you not love a place with the motto "no tea cozies without irony" ?)

(I also fangirl the Vlogbrothers a bit.  John more than Hank, but well.  Yeah, Nerdfighter from WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back)

Ok. That was interesting.

Really. I'm not being sarcastic.

They are interesting, honestly. Neil Gaimen recommended them (me and Neil are like this (envision gap slightly wider than the Grand Canyon)) and I've been following their vlog for years. John writes books and has interesting things to say about the world. Hank is a scientist and also has interesting things to say about the world. They co-own a company called DFTBA records (Don't Forget To Be Awesome) which is home to young internet musicians and artists, and a charitable group called The Project to Decrease World-Suck. And they are often wildly entertaining, too. Their vids are often the most enjoyable 8 minutes I waste a week.

I've been on LJ 4 years (only that long? Feels like a lifetime) and I still don't know how it works, if that's any comfort.
