I am celebrating in the traditional way - air conditioning and procrastination.

We went and looked at farm animals. Then we sat in the air conditioning as well. I didn't have the energy to bake shortcakes, so we did without and just ate strawberries and whipped cream. It was pretty excellent.

Everyone was wearing red and white. EVERYONE. Is this normal, or a consequence of the fact that I live in [redacted] and everyone here is two ticks more patriotic than the average?

Strawberries and anything is good enough! You are in the hub of Canadiana, so that could explain a lot of the red and white. But it's not, um, abnormal. One day a year, that is. ;)
