We went to The Corning Museum of Glass. I will tell you about it tomorrow.

I, too, am tired.

There was snow out there this morning.

Why does it come as a surprise every damned time?

--------

Tomorrow if all goes according to plan (vis the weather and the border patrol) hubby and I are going here to see this:

I expect it to be amazing.  I will let you know.

I may also be late.

-------
Today's episode of "who saw that coming?":

O.J. Simpson booted from a Vegas casino for drunken belligerence

Go fig.
-----------

And also this:

Small knives will be allowed on planes, but baby powder banned: Transport Canada

Reminds me of the time they confiscated my folding sewing scissors that looked like this:

itty bitty scissors

But let the guy ahead of my with the five inch hunting knife through because, and I quote, "It's a hunting knife."

Makes perfect sense.

------------

My page of Xmas recommendations is having some issues, and I think it's been hacked because I can't get in. Internet, you are one damned disappointment after another.
-----------

Who decided Unicorn SPiT would be a good name for a product? It appears to be cool stuff, but the name? no...

----------
Basket of puppies!

The horror, the horror:

Issued at 16:28 Thursday 09 November 2017

Winter Weather Travel Advisory in effect.

Snowfall and rapidly falling temperatures could affect road conditions this evening.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

-------------------------------

The stores are full of Christmas, but I still have little chocolate bars calling my name.  What hellish limbo

--------------------------

Had lunch with [personal profile] cinvidiosa .  As predicted, it was AWESOME.

--------------------------

There don't seem to be new prompts, and I have used up all my original -- cough cough - ideas, so I have gone to past prompts!

Tell us about a food that reminds you of your childhood:

KFC.  Only then it was called Kentucky Fried Chicken. It was a super big deal treat, suitable for birthdays and the last day of school (or when dad came home super "happy" with a bucket under each arm, but those are stories for another time.)  Having a left-over leg or breast or even a thigh you could take for lunch the next day made you the envy of every other kid. I don't really eat KFC anymore because I am old and it is not so good for you, maybe, and my gut is like "Ha!No!" But whenever I smell those 11 herbs and spices, I'm a kid again.

A kid with a cast iron stomach.

------------

Puppy!

Super tiny puppy in fact.

So I went to the fabric store and spent all the money today!

I regret nothing!

Probably
-----------------

My daughter is getting married in August. She forwarded me the list of possible appetizers:

Charred Sweet Pea with Toasted Grimo Walnut on Whipped Goat Cheese
Lamb “tamale” topped with Quesa Fresco, Mojo and Agrodulce Sauces
Pulled Pork Bannock with Black Bean Purée
Cured Trout with Horseradish and Ginger Aioli
Pastured Pork “Chorizo” Meat Balls tossed in our Agrodulce Sauce on a skewer
Seared King Oyster Mushroom with Walnut Gremolata
Sweet Pea and Ontario Feta stuffed Pupusas

It sounds delicious. But also, I have no idea what half the words mean.

Star Trek: Discovery has tardigrades in space. The FOTON-M3 rocket had tardigrades in space. This week's Economist has tardigrades in space.

Who is the tardigrades' publicist??

---------

Look what Hallmark has done for the faithful, about 15 years late!

It will look awesome on my tree!

------------

I am having font issues.  Font issues I can't be bothered to resolve. Like Judy Garland before us, we'll muddle through, somehow.

------------
Obligatory cute puppy!

I spent most of the day hiding from my unexpected house guests.  There is a possibility this makes me a terrible person.  There is a possibility I do not care.

------

Travelers is so good. Watch it. Really.

-----

Some days are stranger than others:

5 naked people arrested in crash south of Edmonton

"Police said a preliminary investigation led investigators to believe the collision was not accidental. Investigators also believe drugs and alcohol could be factors in the collision."

The drugs and alcohol thing seems very likely, don't you think?

----
I gotta go do stuff. Have a puppy:

Have a good day!

So it was cold today. I vote 'no' if any one is conducting a poll.

-------

Not a lot exciting going on around here today. I somehow managed to buy 26 dollars worth of stuff at a variety of thrift stores, nonetheless.

--------

I am going to be painting my spare room, mostly because the house is the same horrible beige its been since I moved in like 9 years ago, and needing space for wedding visitors/grandchild gives me the push/shove I require. Here are the leading contenders:

(These colours look awful on my screen, btw.) Thoughts? Suggestions?
--------

So the Leafs are being destroyed by the Blues. Sigh.

---------

We are watching Escape to the Country. It's full of Brits who want live in barn conversions. Brits have a very different idea about what makes a barn than North Americans do:

That's not a barn, people. That's a brick building some fool once kept animals in.

----------
Do we need another cute puppy? Duh.

And by this I mean:

quinoa vodka - no, really

Yes, that's right. Fair trade vodka (we'll come back to that) made of quinoa.

Aside from feeling like I'm taking Hypstr(tm) brand crazy pills and musing on whether or not it contains any non-nutritive food varnish, I have to wonder if it's ever a good idea to write your own mediocre product reviews:

Talking head with mic: So tell us about your product.
Product Rep: It's quinoa, and it's fair!
Talking head with mic: Only fair? Aim higher, big guy!

I know the discovery of quinoa's wonder-properties messed up the market and resulted in over-supply but it this the best way to deal with it?

And is fair-trade ever really fair?

This is all too much for a Monday morning, isn't it?

Have a cute puppy:

Jonny Lee Miller needs to eat a cookie. Two cookies. Two cookies and a milkshake. He looks unwell. The awful haircut does not help.
-------------

Spent most of the day sewing. Glued glitter to literally nothing. Score!

Today's suggested topic:
Do you consider yourself a "professional" blogger? Why or why not? What does that mean to you?

No. No, I don't. Professional bloggers make money. I do this just for the love of it! Love I say, love!

--------------

[livejournal.com profile] marakaraposted a link to this story ages ago. I finally got a chance to read it. The rich, as they say, are different. More so than really necessary.

[livejournal.com profile] marakara also posted a link to this. Chilling reading.

Are you familiar with Tim Key's Late Night Poetry Programme? It's a bit brilliant.
--------------

I've got nothing. So have an insanely cute pic of bulldog pups, won't you?:
