A while back, [livejournal.com profile] onemillionnine and I wrote a SherlockBBC thing, and now we've written another SherlockBBC thing (and will soon by posting the concluding SherlockBBC thing). If you like this sort of thing, this is quite possibly the sort of thing you like.

(And FUCK I miss plain .txt posting.
Ephemeral and Gossamer, I love you!)

I used to miss plaintext fanfic too, but selective HTML publishing makes italics better than the *asterisk* convention.

Imagine life without italics...Done!

Seriously, for italics I have to jump through all those crazy interface hoops? Meh.

Adding isn't as onerous as correcting a typo after forced line breaks in plaintext gets fux0red.

If Ephemeral/Gossamer were easy to post to, I'd have ALL THE FIC posted there. Seriously, I could do it when I had Word but without it, I haven't been able to make the line breaks come out right.

My point, really. They ARE easy to post to. For me, anyway.

What do you use for word processing?

Since I got my newish (gift for Mother's Day 2009) computer, I use Open Office, which is free. I'm quite happy with it otherwise, but it lacks a key "save as" option. When I save a document as plain text, it turns into big unreadable walls of text. No line breaks. No margins. Obviously not workable for Ephemeral. I spent much time in 2009 trying to find a work-around and failed.

I feel bad about it, because I totally think Gossamer is one of the best things about TXF fandom, but I don't want to spend the money on Word.
