Happy Thanksgiving! If you are celebrating, I hope you're having a great day!

:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:

So it's warm again. Weather, you are a tease!

:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:

My grandpuppy, Ziggy, looks like this:

All over. Tonight, after relieving herself, she then sat back down in said relief.

The takeaway?

It's hard to get dogshit out from under your nails.

:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:

We're watching Daredevil. It's really good. It's really good in spite of the following exchange:

* Matt: You just opened one of the cuts on your back.

* Claire: How do you know that?

* Matt: I can taste copper in the air.

Matt, honey, if you taste copper in the air when someone bleeds, you should ask your self why you are spending so much time with Vulcans. Just sayin'

Today's prompt:

If you're celebrating Thanksgiving today (or even if you're not!), tell us about the best cook in your family.

I have lots of great cooks in my family. My maternal grandmother was an amazing baker. My paternal grandmother made the best turkey dinner I have ever eaten. My mom is a great cook when she puts her mind to it (I am not even counting the time she somehow used vanilla in place of soy sauce. ) My paternal grandfather was a chef in a pretty swanky hotel or two. My maternal granfather had three or four specialties, but none of us have ever been able to reproduce them. My mother-in-law is a terrific cook (her chocolate chip cookies suck, for some odd reason.) My sister makes fabulous meals. Even my three now-adult kids are great cooks.   We don't have to endure any bad meals. We're pretty lucky.

Apparently some elite athletes cheat.  I'm shocked, I say, shocked!

You probably saw how this six year old answered a tricky math problem, but if you didn't, be sure to check it out.  It made me laugh. A lot. Enough to disconcert the dog.  The head scratching is the best.
:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:
Speaking of the dog, she turned one today.  How time flies when you are puppy proofing your whole friggin' life.  Good thing she's cute.

Best red pasta sauce ever.  Seriously.  I was sceptical, (or maybe skeptical? I am never sure) but it's both crazy easy and crazy delicious. Also versatile.  Great for pasta, pizza, veal parm - all your red sauce needs. (Don't act like you don't have red sauce needs - we all know the truth.)   Try it - I dare you.

Today's prompt:

What is the hardest part of a big project: getting the energy to begin, finding the time to work on it, or feeling down that it's over?
Way to hit a nerve, NaBloPoMo prompts. It's all hard, but I think getting not only the energy but the confidence to begin is the hardest part.  Like most of us, I hate starting anything where I don't know the outcome.  And whatever you attempt, it's never as good as you imagined it should be (or as good as 'I' imagined it should be, speaking strictly for my overly-self-critical self.  Sigh.
How about you?
